These graders are hitched to the rear lift arms and the top link of the tractor. Their basic purpose was originally to spread out the mounds of soil discharged from lorries at a site. As they can spread forwards and backwards, this task is very fast. Because they are hitched to the lift arms and top link of the tractor, they can be lifted and manoeuvred more quickly.
They are also used to clear the margins of fields, grade the banks of reservoirs, etc.
The simple, fixed grader is pulled and is hitched to the tractor lift arms (no top link connection). It is mainly used for simple tasks that do not require the precision and weight provided by the laser system of the telescopic graders.
